David Shaw began racing as a riding mechanic in a skiff in 1973. In 1974 he purchased his 1st boat in the 145 ci. "S" class.
Richard Shaw began racing at 14 in the 1.5 Stock class. John Shaw also started at 14 in the 1.5 Stock class, and by age 16 he was racing in the 2.5 Stock and 1L classes as well. John has either been ranked 1st or 2nd Nationally in every class he has raced. He has competed in every current class of APBA Inboard Racing, which few have accomplished before. John has all the necessary qualities and accolades to be considered one of the best Power Boat racers in North America. With major wins, championships, and world records; John has set his mark on the Power Boat Racing community. So far in his career, he has focused on the American Power Boat Association and Hydroplane Racing League and has been finishing up front. John strives to build strong relationships with his partners in the community. In addition to driving, he am familiar with composites; how to make repairs, layup parts, rig boats, the engine and mechanical aspects, as well as boat set up. He have always strives to build strong relationships with owners, crew, sponsors, fans, as well as partners in the community. He thrives to be in the spotlight, is popular with the racing community, and with his fans across the US and Canada. With numerous championships, speed records, and multiple wins; John is one of the highest ranked drivers in North America. Katelyn Shaw did not follow in her brothers footsteps, but she became a Chief Scorer at the age of 14 and at age 16 was the youngest recipient of the "National Inboard Scorers Award". |
